Part of the original manual Начертание правил фехтовального искусства (Description of the Rules of the Art of Fencing), this chapter is one of the most detailed European records of the 19th century on the use of the stick as a military training weapon. Editorial notes

More than a military document, this treatise is a rare testimony to the European methodology of stick fighting — rigorous, systematic, and surprisingly modern. An essential work for researchers, practitioners of historical martial arts, military historians, and anyone interested in the evolution of European combat arts.
